A Journey to Gibraltar ran to 169 pp. Demy 8vo (c. 66K words). There’s a frontispiece reproducing a poster for a bullfight at La Linea de la Concepción in July 1942. Twenty-one further illustrations drawn from picture postcards and several foreign weeklies brought back from the tour are grouped on fourteen single-sided plates distributed at irregular intervals through the book. The front and back end papers show identical sepia spreads signed ‘R. C. K.’ mapping the journey to Portugal and Spain (left) and the Straight of Gibraltar (right).
