An Exile in Soho ran to 343 pp. Demy 8vo (c. 112K words) price 16s. bound in black cloth boards with gilt titling. The jacket design by Phyllis Ginger bore a watercolour depicting the book’s first scene (a little man in a bowler hat trudging head bowed across St Giles’s churchyard) in a 123 mm diameter medallion. The title was yellow, the author’s name white, the rest uniformly black.
